Digital Twin Platform

Multi-year journey building and scaling a flexible digital twin platform.

Lesson

An end-to-end workflow that connects dots across data silos, domains, and disciplines is key to delivering real value.

The lesson in full: This ongoing journey at KDI has reinforced my belief that true full-stack ownership goes beyond just code. It requires understanding the entire ecosystem: from data sources, integration pipelines, user workflows, to infrastructure and AI capabilities. Only by connecting these dots can we deliver solutions that truly resonate with users and solve their complex problems.

What it is

My journey at Kongsberg Digital (KDI, now Falkor) building Kognitwin, an enterprise-grade digital twin platform for heavy asset industries like oil & gas, LNG, and energy. What started as building an admin portal to prove ‘extreme flexibility’ during the early product days has evolved into leading cross-functional initiatives spanning frontend, backend, infrastructure, AI, and UX. Over 7 years, I’ve worn many hats: shipping the first international deployment (Trinidad & Tobago), solving browser performance bottlenecks for point cloud streaming, building and pivoting internal CLI tooling, leading next-gen UX reboots, and architecting agentic AI orchestration.

Results

  • Adopted by more than 3 major global energy companies.
  • Deployed to 10+ regions globally.
  • 10K+ engineering users.
