Lesson

Mastering the full pipeline (hardware → stitching → encoding) is a competitive moat.

The lesson in full: Technical expertise across camera rigs, stitching software, and device-specific encoding became a core company differentiator.

What it is

Video production was core to Stargate Media’s business. To achieve cinematic quality in 360 video, I overcame numerous technical challenges. On the hardware side, this meant selecting, operating, and sometimes designing complex 360 camera rigs. On the software side, it required mastering video stitchers (Autopano, Mistika, Nuke & Cara) and various codecs to optimally encode video for different devices.
